Position: Coordinator/Medical Office Nursing

The essential duties and responsibilities of a Medical Office Coordinator include:

-Supporting patient safety initiatives by maintaining an environment of safety for patients, self and others
-Providing direct patient care while maintaining current skills and competencies required of the other Registered Nurses in the department
-Identifying, coordinating, and conducting ongoing continuing education programs for the staff and organizing an annual competency fair
-Coordinating clinical care and patient flow activities while ensuring that the care/service delivered to each patient is appropriate and in accordance with the physician's orders, departmental policies and in consideration of the patient's safety needs
-Documenting any care provided in the patient's record
-Assisting with the evaluation of the quality of the care/services provided, identifying any areas that need improvement and making the appropriate recommendations to address any quality deficiencies
-Assisting in addressing any patient issues/complaints related to the care/services received
-Participating in performance and quality improvement activities
-Serving as the chair person for quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
-Assisting in and assigning responsibility for the PI data collection on a monthly basis
-Maintaining an adequate inventory of clinical supplies and equipment and assisting with adherence to the budget, cost containment and product selection
-Serving as a clinical and management resource for decision-making, problem solving and employee performance reviews
-Serving as a liaison between the staff, physicians and the director
-Preparing clinical staff time schedules, ensuring adequate staffing of the unit and providing assistance in covering staff absences
-Assisting the manager as a time keeper for the unit
-Advising the medical staff and the director about matters related to patient care and operations of the department
-Serving as a role model to other staff in the unit
-Assisting in the development and implementation of an orientation plan for new staff
-Assisting in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures and ensuring that the clinical nursing staff is adhering to all of these policies and procedures. This includes JCAHO, OSHA and other regulatory standards
-Establishing, maintaining and evaluating protocols, policies and procedures in conjunction with the physician staff
-Recognizing, supporting, and utilizing evidence based nursing practices and adhering to the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
